Awards and Scholarships
The Department of Architecture is proud to announce many architecture scholarship opportunities for our students. Please see each category below for specific instructions on how to apply for the 2022 - 2023 academic year.
Foundation Scholarships
All Foundation scholarships are internal to KSU students only.

Architecture Scholarships
College of Architecture and Construction Management General Scholarship
This award is renewable until graduation for full-time students.
Apply to the Scholarship Universe and follow instructions.

GLA Scholarship for Innovation and Excellence in Architecture
- Applicants in their 2nd or 3rd or 4th Year -- 3rd or 4th or 5th year at the time of AWARD
- Full-time student (unless awarded in 5th yr student) majoring in architecture
- Preference given to transfer students
- Minimum GPA: 3.25
- Rankings based on cumulative GPA at the time of application
Preferences:
- Students who use ArchiCAD by Graphisoft
- Active in students organizations (AIAS, APX, NOMAS, MAC)
Application Requirements:
- Portfolio of creative work
The Davidson Family
Eligibility Criteria:
- Enrolled full-time
- Applicants in 3rd and 4th year. Awarded to 4th year or 5th year (Architecture)
- 3.0 minimum cumulative GPA
- Scholarship is renewable through with application (re-apply the next year)
- Students should actively participate in campus organizations and/or competition teams

Jimmy Goldgeier Scholarship
Eligibility Criteria:
- Applicants currently in their 3rd or 4th year (4th or 5th year at the time of award)
- Full-time student
- Preference given to transfer students
- 70th - 90th percentile in the Architecture Program- the 90th percentile maximum will not apply to applicants seeking to renew the scholarship
Application Requirements:
- List of achievements
- Answer application questions
- An essay of 500 word count max
This award is renewable until graduation for full-time students.

James G. Fausett Scholarship
Eligibility Criteria:
- Applicants currently in their 4th year (5th year student at the time of award)
- Demonstration of leadership and commendable academic performance
- Being in the 85th or higher percentile in the architecture program
This award cannot be received more than once.

Jeremy Smith Scholarship
Eligibility Criteria:
- Applicants currently in their 3rd or 4th year (5th year student at the time of award)
Application Requirements:
- Portfolio/Creative work: Exemplary design work and demonstration of skills in multiple medias (models, drawings and digital)
- List of Activities: leadership, engagement and volunteering
- Reference: Two in support of "Activities" category
- Presentation: who you are, one exemplary design project and examples of engagement
Evaluation:
- 70% Studio Work
- 30% Engagement Activities

How to Apply
Applications for any of the above Foundation scholarships must be submitted through the KSU Scholarship system. Failing to do both (submitting to only one location) will disqualify applications.
Architecture Foundation of Georgia - AIA Georgia Scholarships

Architecture Scholarships
The John D. Mulford Memorial Scholarship
Eligibility Criteria:
- Open to KSU Architecture students only
- Applicants in their 2nd, 3rd or 4th year
- Professional degree candidates at KSU who will be continuing their studies in the following year
Application Requirements:
- Fill in the cover page form (available through D2L – Scholarship Committee)
- A one-or-two-page curriculum vitae for each nominee stating, among other things, name, contact information, progress in studies, and anticipated degree and date of graduation;
- A maximum 400-word essay written by the nominee describing their goals and aspirations, both educationally and professionally, and financial need;
- A curated graphic portfolio of the nominee’s work (five to ten 8.5 x 11-inch pages representing the student’s work)
- Provide a list of past scholarships and awards received by the nominee as well as those the nominee is currently applying for

The Architecture Foundation Scholarship
Eligibility Criteria:
- Open to all students in Georgia
- Applicants in their 3rd or 4th year (4th or 5th year at the time of award)
- Financial need
- Academic performance and portfolio review
Application Requirements
- Fill in the cover page form (available through D2L – Scholarship Committee)
- A one-or-two-page curriculum vitae for each nominee stating, among other things, name, contact information, progress in studies, and anticipated degree and date of graduation;
- A maximum 400-word essay written by the nominee describing their goals and aspirations, both educationally and professionally, and financial need;
- A curated graphic portfolio of the nominee’s work (five to ten 8.5 x 11-inch pages representing the student’s work)
- Provide a list of past scholarships and awards received by the nominee as well as those the nominee is currently applying for

AIA Henry Adams Medal and Certificate Program
- Submitted by the scholarship committee
- An engraved medal and certificate of merit will be presented to the top-ranking graduating student in each architecture program
- A certificate of merit will be presented to the second-ranking graduating student
- Awarded for general excellence in architecture throughout the four-year course to graduating students of architecture schools

How to Apply
All applications for The John D. Mulford Memorial Scholarship and The Architecture Foundation Scholarship must be submitted to the KSU Department of Architecture Scholarship committee by February 27, 2023. Please contact Pdf. Karimi, or Prof. Uddin, or Prof. Setiawan for the access to submit the application. The committee must submit the shortlist to the Architecture Foundation of Georgia by March 8, 2023.

2023 HOK Diversity X Design Scholarship
Eligibility Requirements:
- BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, or a Person of Color)
- A U.S. citizen or U.S. permanent resident
- Enrolled in a NAAB-Accredited architecture program
- Entering at least the third year of their current undergraduate academic program or any year of a graduate program in Fall of 2022
