Construction Management Awards and Scholarships

We are pleased to announce the availability of many scholarship awards for the academic year. Construction Management majors (BS, MS and Certificate students) are all eligible to apply. Each scholarship award, and the amount, will be based on actual funds available. Interested students are invited and encouraged to complete the application process. All applicants must be currently enrolled as full-time students (12 credit minimum for BS and 8 credit minimum for MS) and must be in good academic standing.

 

Available Scholarships

  • This scholarship will be awarded to a student pursuing a BS in Construction Management and plans to work in an electrical contracting firm in Atlanta.

    Amount: $2,000

  • Scholarship provides financial assistance to full- or part-time undergraduate or graduate students majoring in Construction Management, with a minimum GPA of 2.5. Preference is given to students who are veterans of, or active reservists in, the United States Military.

  • The Construction Management Industry Advisory Board (CMIAB) offers four scholarships, awarded based on merit (GPA), major and performance in curricular and extracurricular activities.

  • This scholarship is endowed by Don Davidson, CEO of Inglett and Stubbs and past Chair of the Construction Industry Advisory Board through the Polytechnic Foundation of KSU.

    Amount: $2,500

  • This scholarship will be awarded to two students who demonstrate a need for support and have a GPA of 3.0 or more.

    Amount: $1,000 and $500
    Scholarships Available: 2

  • This scholarship is available to full-time students majoring in Construction Management. Applicants must have a minimum 3.0 GPA, indicate financial need and include a statement/essay on new technology applications in the construction industry.

    Amount: $1,000

  • This award is funded jointly by the Professional Construction Estimators Association (PCEA) and the American Society of Professional Estimators (ASPE) Atlanta Chapters. Award recipients will be selected based on service to the profession, extracurricular activities, and merit (GPA).

  • This is a merit-based scholarship that will be awarded to a student pursuing either a B.S. or M.S. in Construction Management.

    Amount: $4,000

  • The Georgia Utility Contractors Association (GUCA) may award up to three scholarships. This particular scholarship is not in the KSU scholarship system, and needs to be applied for directly through GUCA by filling out this application, and mailing it to the address listed.

  • This scholarship is open to students studying construction management at the undergraduate or graduate level who wish to pursue residential construction management professionally.

    This particular scholarship is not in the KSU scholarship system, and needs to be applied for directly through HOUZZ.

  • The IFMA Atlanta Chapter Scholarship offers scholarships to students who have completed at least two courses in Facilities Management Concentration at the undergraduate or graduate level.

    Amount: $1,000

  • The Juneau Scholarship is awarded to students in the BS or MS Construction Management programs based on need and minimum GPA.

    Amount: $500, $1,000
    Scholarships Available: 2

  • Applicants must be currently enrolled full-time in a construction-related degree program at a school in the United States and must have at least one term remaining in a course of study leading to a degree degree in a construction-related field. High school seniors and those pursuing graduate degrees are not eligible. A current cumulative GPA or 3.0 or higher is necessary to be considered for this award.

    This particular scholarship is not in the KSU scholarship system, and needs to be applied for directly through the NAWIC.

  • The Smith Douglas Homes Scholarship provides financial assistance to full-or part-time undergraduate students with a minimum GPA of 3.0 who are majoring in Construction Management with a concentration in Residential Construction. Preference is given to students who are veterans of or active reservists in, the United States Military.

  • To be elligible to apply for this scholarship, students must have completed at least one course in the Specialty Construction concentration and be enrolled in another course. There is a minimum overall KSU GPA requirement of 2.8 for this scholarship.

  • This is a merit-based scholarship that will be awarded to a student pursuing either a B.S. or M.S. in Construction Management.

How to Apply

To apply for any of the scholarships listed above, aside from GUCA, Houzz and NAWIC, you must apply through the KSU scholarship application.

The deadline for academic year 2020-2021 scholarship applications is March 15, 2020. The four-member Scholarship Committee (three CM department representatives and one Advisory Board member) will evaluate the applications received by the deadline and make recommendations to the CM Department Chair. The Chair will announce the names of the scholarship recipients.

Scholarship awards will be made available to the students' accounts for use toward tuition and fees.

For GUCA, please send your completed application directly to the address given on the application form before the deadline, or it will not be considered.

Scholarship recipients will be expected to participate in an awards ceremony and write thank you letters to their scholarship provider.
